Tommy Lawson at Toonzone had something to say about all this on the Toonzone forums
Yes, Ranger fans, Jackie Marchand, the Jackie Marchand that has worked on PR for so long, is on strike along with the other writers of the WGA. New Zealand writers have shown solidarity with their American counterparts, so don't expect them to be taking up writing duties for PR anytime soon. A prolonged strike may affect the season after Jungle Fury, and makes the rumor of an animated series much more attractive to Disney. I think the animated series was always a idea available to Disney that was meant to be used as a move in either the event of a prolonged strike, or if costs to film in New Zealand became too expensive, which with the weakening U.S. dollar versus other currencies, is happening now.

I don't know whats going to happen ito televison in general, but something tells me that by the time this decade is over, the entire TV landscape will be totally new. If this is a good or not thing only time will tell.
